Zone leads progress in medical equipment

The Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone is taking the lead in the country inboosting the 

development of the domestic high-end medical equipment industry, which willgreatly improve the health of China's residents.

Due to its high complexity, huge R&D investment needs and the difficulty of replacement,China's medical 

equipment industry has long been at the bottom of the industry chain, andoverseas companies have dominated 

the high-end medical equipment market.

In recent years, China has accelerated the development of domestic medical equipment andreleased a series of 

measures to support this. The State Council released a guideline earlierthis year of tasks required in 2015 to 

strengthen technology investment in the domestic medicalequipment industry and research policies and 

measures needed to promote industrydevelopment.
